FAFO: The Cousin Walk (Craft Store Version)

It’s the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. You love your family. You’re grateful for your family. And you also need to be emotionally prepared to spend an entire day with your family. You used to go out to bars and get lit with your friends from high school. But if you watched 9/11 on the tv cart in elementary school, I’m gonna be honest with you. 😬 You are unfortunately too old for that now. 

This is exactly what the “cousin walk” was made for! You disappear for a little while, 🚬🌿“decompress”, mind your business, and return to the festivities significantly more equipped to handle whatever happens at the dinner table.

This is the Makeshift Cousin Walk.

Join us the night before Thanksgiving for a special mystery embroidery workshop designed to help you get out of the house, make something with your hands, hang out with other adults, and generally prepare your nervous system for tomorrow. 

And if you don’t have family locally to avoid, come and hang out with your Makeshift family! 🥰 

We are literally staying open for YOU to have the space you need!

The Vibe

🙉Nobody is allowed to ask you when you’re having kids, why you’re still single, what you’re doing with your life, or whether you really needed another tattoo.

😮💨For a couple of hours, you’re just hanging out at the craft store, embroidering something ridiculous with a room full of people who also needed to get out of the house.

What You’ll Do
You will need to fuck around to find out. But we can tell you it’s a completely beginner-friendly embroidery workshop. Experienced stitchers are welcome too. 

😮💨 You can just show up, fuck around, and enjoy your pre-Thanksgiving escape.

Workshop Age Guidance:
Our workshops are designed to be a welcoming and inclusive creative space for all. Please note that workshops are intended for participants ages 14 and up, with instruction, pacing, and materials geared toward teens and adults rather than young children.

Workshops that are appropriate for younger participants will be clearly labeled as family-friendly or “Grown-Up & Me” activities. Thank you for your understanding!

Cancellation Policy:
For workshops booked on or after August 16, 2026, the following cancellation policy applies: If you’re unable to attend a workshop, you may cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before the scheduled workshop time to receive a 50% refund of your workshop payment. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop start time are not eligible for a refund. Please note that materials or kits from the class cannot be provided to participants who are unable to attend.
