Sometimes your project just needs a little more ✨whimsey✨.

A plain edge? Fine.

A plain edge covered in tiny beads?

💁‍♀️ Immediately yes.

In this workshop, we're learning how to use seed beads and embroidery techniques to create three different embellished borders that can add color, texture, sparkle, and a tiny bit of extra to just about anything made of fabric.

🪡 You'll practice your three border techniques on both fabric and felt, learning how the materials behave differently and how to securely incorporate beads into your stitching.

We'll have our workshop stash of colorful seed beads out for you to dig through, mix, match, and experiment with as you learn. Keep things delicate and subtle. Go bright and colorful. Mix together a completely unhinged bead combination because somehow it WORKS.

Once you've learned the techniques, the possibilities get very big, very quickly.

🤯 Add a beaded border to an embroidered patch.
🤯 Embellish a collar, cuff, or pocket.
🤯 Edge a felt ornament.
🤯 Add details to a costume.
🤯 Make a plain bag significantly less plain.
🤯 Incorporate beads into an embroidery project.

Basically: see an edge, put some beads on it.

This class is all about adding another technique to your creative toolbox. This is a powerful skill that you can can take into embroidery, sewing, felt work, clothing embellishment, costuming, and whatever weird little project you come up with next.

Important note: This class is an intermediate embroidery class and will not cover the foundations of how to embroider. If you are interested in this class, we recommend taking a beginner embroidery class first to ensure you have the skills needed to succeed in this workshop.

What You’ll Learn:

💎 How to incorporate seed beads into hand embroidery
