Summer has come and passed…
and if you can finish those lyrics you are in the right place! You also might need to order more black eyeliner to match the iconic looks of Billie Joe Armstrong.
This month’s Emo Embroidery project honors the iconic song “Wake Me Up When September Ends” from Green Day. The song is a heart-wrenching tribute written by Billie Joe about the death of his father when he was only 10 years old. As the story goes, when his father passed early in the month of September, the young boy ran to his room after the funeral and told his mom to “wake me up when September ends.”
It is a deeply relatable feeling for anyone experiencing the deepest kinds of grief. And when you scream it out in a room full of people, it can be incredibly cathartic. That is the beautiful magic of how music can help us feel less alone.
Come join fellow deep souls to embroider a custom design inspired by the song, which features a moody window scene with the lyrics.
This workshop is beginner-friendly and includes:
🪡 pre-printed fabric featuring Brittany's original design
🧵 embroidery floss to match the pattern
✨ all stitching materials needed during class
Your finished piece is perfect for:
🖤 emo gallery walls and music corners
📚 bookshelves filled with records, CDs, and favorite novels
✨ cozy reading nooks and creative spaces
🌙 reminding yourself that even grief can lead to something beautiful
Come dressed in your finest emo attire. Band tees, black eyeliner, flannels in summer, all of it encouraged.
