Emo Evening: Copeland The Brightest Firefly in Her Jar Embroidery

You are the brightest little firefly in her jar. ✨🪲🖤

This month's Emo Embroidery Night is inspired by Copeland's Brightest, a song that somehow manages to feel hopeful, heartbreaking, tender, and devastating all at the same time. Which, if we're being honest, is exactly the kind of emotional complexity we look for in our music.

For this workshop, Brittany hand-drew an original design featuring a collection of glowing fireflies gathered inside a mason jar alongside the lyric "brightest little firefly in her jar." Equal parts summer nostalgia, late-night melancholy, and poetic yearning, the finished piece feels like something discovered in an old journal tucked away with concert tickets, dried flowers, and handwritten letters you'll never throw away.

As always, we'll spend the evening stitching, listening to emo favorites, discussing the albums that permanently altered our personalities, and collectively embracing our feelings in a healthy and productive crafting environment. Probably.

This workshop is beginner-friendly and includes:

Our workshops are designed to be a welcoming and inclusive creative space for all. Please note that workshops are intended for participants ages 14 and up, with instruction, pacing, and materials geared toward teens and adults rather than young children.
