We're taking Makeshift On The Road and chasing Colorado's yellow leaves all the way to Fort Collins!! 🍂🏔️🎨🪡

There are approximately three perfect weeks in Colorado when the mountains turn gold, the air gets crisp, and every single one of us suddenly develops a deep emotional attachment to yellow leaves.

for a special Makeshift On The Road workshop celebrating one of our favorite Makeshift workshops: Embroidery on a Watercolored Notecard!

Some projects can't decide whether they're watercolor, embroidery, or paper crafting. This one happily chooses all three.

In this mixed-media workshop, you'll create one handmade notecard inspired by Colorado's iconic golden fall landscapes using a combination of watercolor painting and embroidery on paper.

We'll start with beginner-friendly watercolor techniques to create washes of autumn color, golden aspens, mountain-inspired backgrounds, and those dreamy layers of yellow, orange, green, and blue that make Colorado in the fall look completely ridiculous.

Then we're adding thread.

You'll learn how to carefully punch stitching holes into your painted card and embroider directly over your watercolor artwork, adding stitched leaves, branches, details, and texture that bring your tiny fall landscape to life.

The result is one little piece of Colorado leaf-peeping season you can actually hold in your hands. 🍂

We're bringing the Makeshift workshop experience north for an afternoon of watercolor, embroidery, golden leaves, good food, good drinks, and hanging out with fellow crafty humans at Konstruct Brewing.

Paint some aspens. Stitch some leaves. Order another drink. Make a tiny piece of Colorado fall.

And when actual leaf-peeping season inevitably disappears approximately 45 seconds after it arrives?

Our workshops are designed to be a welcoming and inclusive creative space for all. Please note that workshops are intended for participants ages 14 and up, with instruction, pacing, and materials geared toward teens and adults rather than young children.

Workshops that are appropriate for younger participants will be clearly labeled as family-friendly or “Grown-Up & Me” activities. Thank you for your understanding!

Cancellation Policy:
If you’re unable to attend a workshop, you may cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before the scheduled workshop time to receive a 50% refund of your workshop payment. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop start time are not eligible for a refund.
