Freestyle Felt Bar

Welcome to the Freestyle Felt Bar where you bring the idea and we give you access to an entire playground of felt, shapes, tools, and possibilities. ✂️🧵✨

This is an open-ended creative session designed for anyone who has looked at our Sizzix felt workshops and thought, “Okay, but what else can I make with all of those shapes?”

For $30, you'll get access to our Sizzix machines and entire collection of steel-rule dies, plus our felt scrap stash, shared tools, embroidery floss, needles, scissors, and everything you need to start experimenting.

Make a felt garland. Create patches for a jacket or tote bag. Build a tiny felt scene. Make ornaments, bookmarks, appliqués, decorations, banners, or invent something totally new! We'll have project examples and inspiration available, but there is no assigned project. You get to decide what you want to make!

We'll show you how to safely use the Sizzix machines, help you figure out how different felt pieces can be assembled, and be nearby when you need help turning the idea in your head into something that actually works.

What You’ll Learn:

This is a freestyle creative session rather than a traditional guided workshop, so there isn't one specific project or curriculum. Instead, we'll teach you what you need to know to start creating independently, including:

✂️ How to safely use our Sizzix machines and steel-rule dies
🧵 Different ways to layer, assemble, stitch, and embellish felt pieces
🪡 Basic hand-stitching techniques as needed for your project
💡 How to look at individual die-cut shapes and imagine completely new ways to use them
✨ Tips and tricks for bringing your own felt project idea to life

The Vibe:

Part craft workshop, part creative playground, part “wait...what if I put THESE two pieces together?!”

Dig through the felt scraps. Cut a ridiculous number of tiny shapes. Look through our dies until inspiration strikes. Get ideas from the person sitting next to you. Start with one project and accidentally end up making something completely different.

There are examples if you want a jumping-off point and staff nearby when you get stuck, but what you make is entirely up to you.

No rules. No assigned project. Just a whole lot of felt and an unreasonable number of possibilities. ✂️✨

Workshop Age Guidance:
Our workshops are designed to be a welcoming and inclusive creative space for all. Please note that workshops are intended for participants ages 14 and up, with instruction, pacing, and materials geared toward teens and adults rather than young children.

Workshops that are appropriate for younger participants will be clearly labeled as family-friendly or “Grown-Up & Me” activities. Thank you for your understanding!

Cancellation Policy:
For workshops booked on or after August 16, 2026, the following cancellation policy applies: If you’re unable to attend a workshop, you may cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before the scheduled workshop time to receive a 50% refund of your workshop payment. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop start time are not eligible for a refund. Please note that materials or kits from the class cannot be provided to participants who are unable to attend.
