This workshop is our first event for International Crochet Day! To celebrate, we came up with a perfect project for crocheters who want more whimsy in their life. Maybe that old flower crown just isn’t cutting it anymore or your regular hair accessories are too bland. Maybe you have a vision for an elegant ensemble to wear at an upcoming fantasy ball (* cough cough * go read about the Dreamers Gala we are hosting in October…) or a Halloween costume that needs an extra handmade touch. However you make it, this crocheted vine will be your favorite new accent piece!
The pattern is designed as a longer vine that you can wrap around your head and also let sections flow freely down the back. Or it can easily be adapted to work as a small ponytail holder or even a larger chain to fit around your waist. The pattern guide includes motifs for making tiny crocheted shapes such as flowers, moons, stars, butterflies, mushrooms, skulls, bats, leaves, flames, and more!
Along with the guide, you also get to choose 3 sparkly yarns and 3 corresponding cotton yarns to combine into your sturdy and soft accessory. A basic understanding of crochet is recommended so that we can build on that foundation in the workshop to learn about reading charts and carrying yarn double. Participants should bring a size 3mm, 3.25mm, and/or 3.5mm hook.
Put down that boring headband and come make yourself a statement piece full of whimsical flair!
