Some people say that Makeshift Crafts is like the mall before the internet, it is the one place to be. And who are we to disagree?? If the shoe fits, walk in it.

Taylor’s album Evermore evokes a lot of the same emotion and wistful sighs as its predecessor Folklore. But it also gave us some of her most inventive and experimental storytelling, moments where she decided to imagine narratives beyond her own experience. In many ways it captures both the isolation and connection of the COVID pandemic when it was written.

For this workshop we will spend the evening stitching and discussing all those emotions together, reflecting on our own bittersweet memories of holidays in our hometown, the heartbreak of champagne problems, or childhood friends like Dorothea. You might even make some friends who become so loyal that they will defend your life until there is no body and no crime.

As part of our year-long series celebrating each of Taylor’s albums, the September workshop offers an exclusive Makeshift pattern based on the Evermore album cover. Each month in the series features a 3" × 3" cross stitch square inspired by one of Taylor's albums. By the end of the year, you'll have twelve stitched squares that can stand alone or be combined into one stunning tribute to every era.
